Mathematics – Optimising Curriculum Planning and Catering for Learner Diversity

高中四個核心科目（即中國語文、英國語文、數學、公民與社會發展科以代替通識教育科）的優化措施將於二○二一／二二學年在中四級開始實施。數學科着重善用現行課程架構照顧學生多樣性，以及鼓勵熱衷於數學或需要更多數學知識和技能的學生修讀數學科延伸部分。為讓各持份者（例如學生、家長）了解優化措施，教育局課程發展處特別為此製作了五套短片，深入淺出地介紹背後理念和具體安排，當中有學界和家長代表分享對優化措施的心聲。

The optimising measures of the Four Senior Secondary (SS) Core Subjects (Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics, Citizenship and Social Development) will be implemented at Secondary 4 in the 2021/2022 school year.  The optimising measures of Mathematics focus on the better use of the current curriculum framework in catering for learner diversity, and encourage students who have keen interest in Mathematics or need more mathematical knowledge and skills to study the Extended Part of Mathematics.  Five videos produced by the Curriculum Development Institute of Education Bureau aim to explicate the rationale and arrangements, so as to facilitate different stakeholders’ (e.g. students, parents) understanding of the optimising measures.  Representatives of parents and the education sector are invited to share their views in the videos.
